A Few of My Favorite Things
Rain boots
The old saying, “April showers bring May flowers” doesn’t always sound terrific. The “May flowers” part does, but the “April showers” just means long, gloomy, rainy, boring days. However, I look forward to rainy days with a smile because one of my favorite things is rain boots.
Growing up I had a pair of rain boots and, like most any other kid, I liked rain because that meant puddles; puddles to splash in. I feel like a kid again when I put on my rain boots. Not only are they good for rainy days, but they are bright and happy and bring color and joy to the gloomiest days.
It kind of reminds me of when we are going through a “storm” in our life. We can’t seem to find pleasure or joy in anything, but God always has a surprise or a little “happy” waiting for us just because He loves to see us smile and loves to hear us giggle. So try to look for the bright and happy things through the rough and stormy patches of life. They are usually right in front of us, like my pin,k polka-dotted rain boots. So slip on a pair of rain boots and go splash your sad and
gloomy days away!
