Niah’s Notebook-My Heart

Niah’s Notebook

My Heart
I know my heart as no one does.
At times my heart has wings.
With tuning and some proper care,
I know my heart can sing.

My heart is full with friends and joy,
Yet there is always space,
And when I watch Orlando Bloom
I know my heart will race.

God knows my heart as no one does.
At times my heart has wings.
His everlasting love and grace
Can make my heart to sing.

“My Sister’s Hands”

Niah’s Notebook

“My Sister’s Hands”

My sister’s hands are long and slim;
Their nails stay nice and neat.
They never text for all the day,
Or ever drum a beat.

They’re never painted red and blue
because a change she wants.
They are not bitten to the skin
Or ever used to taunt.

My sister’s hands stay at her side
When music’s in the air.
They’re never used for catching balls
Or playing with her hair.

My sister’s hands are not my own.
I’ve finally come to see
That the hands God’s given
Were strictly made for me.

Niah’s Notebook-”Friends”

Niah’s Notebook
“Friends”
Smiles are little rays are sunlight
that shine brightly from inside
and show themselves to others
when happiness just cannot hide

Hugs are anchors to the soul
ones that we throw away
to the soul of another
saying that we’d wish they’d stay

Friends are angels without wings
that God sends from above
to protect us from ourselves
And personify his love.

“Hiding”

NIAH’S NOTEBOOK

“Hiding”

On day to day
you go your way;
head held high with pride.
An empty laugh,
a soulless smile
can you get by for quite awhile

Then late at night-
all alone-
The tears you’d held back fall
When you realize you had nothing
When you thought you’d had it all

The friends who swear you’ve changed
The things you strive to do
You’re empty still inside
And cry because you know it’s true

“Are you okay?” they’ll ask
Who don’t know you cry at night.
You laugh and lie about it,
wishing it was still alright.

On day to day you go on
Your way;
in no one you confide.
An empty laugh,
a soulless smile
still doesn’t hide
your pain inside.
